I must admit I was late to the party for American idol and did not see the first couple years , but I have seen the reruns of these in bits and pieces. I started watching as a regular when Carrie made her splash on the hit fox show.
It's not hard to see with the likes of Adam Lambert that this is no longer a grass roots search for unknown talent but, has now become a vehicle for fringe celebrities that need that little extra push to get them into the spotlight.
There is also no doubt that these finalists all the way back to the top 16 or so were all working pros in one way or another . Adam is an unbelievable talent .... so much so that I can't believe he had not found his way in to the main stream music scene before now.
His rendition of Led Zeppelins' Whole lotto love was top notch and I really think the persona that he is going for with his updated Elvis look and singing style rite up to his curled upper lip.
I think it will come down to him and Danny in the end with him winning in a land slide .... c'mon now has there been any doubt since you first seen this guy ?.... just like Carrie Underwood you knew it was over before it was over.
